DAY TWO
This weekend has been strange to say the least.
After a week of classes is over, it's pretty difficult to have the energy that I'd like to have. High school can get frustrating sometimes when you stay up late/get up early, and it never truly gets to a place where you are content with how you feel. But aside from a loss of energy, it's always fun to spend Friday nights standing in the student section, cheering your heart out for your team. It's better when your team WINS like we did on Friday. and it's even BETTER when you get to go party at an amazing stomp afterwards. I'd have to say that Friday was really wonderful.
Saturday was made up of General Conference, napping, watching Friends, and blogging. Honestly, I didn't do a whole lot. I mostly just felt like I was in a funk.
Today was similar, minus watching Friends & plus seeing a pug.
BABY PUGS ARE PERFECT. This is Pippa the Pug, my sister's puppy. Very cute.
I really enjoyed seeing President Monson speak. He seemed content and happy. I know his health isn't good, but it was a nice change to see him smile. It made me grateful to know that even through health challenges he is determined to let us know that our Father in Heaven loves us so much & wants us to have happiness.
Russell M. Nelson's talk stood out to me as well. Plan of Happiness, guys! "The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives." I really needed to hear that, especially today!
I'm thankful that Latter-Day Saint members aren't afraid to share their thoughts and testimonies on social media, it helps me remember what I want to be. Thank you to anyone who had anything to add to "Conference Twitter".
(Sidenote/Story/Thought: I'm very excited to see what Parker, Spencer, & Kristyn accomplish on their missions. They've always been great examples to me. Spencer has always been in my ward, but it wasn't until my Freshman year when I really knew who Parker and Kristyn were. They were Juniors and I thought that they were incredible, and I wanted to be just like all three of them. And now that I'm the Junior I'm wondering if I can even hold that standard for younger kids who might just look up to me? It's honestly a very weird feeling. But anyway, they are amazing humans & I'm overjoyed that they will be the missionaries representing my religion.)
I hope you enjoyed General Conference if you watched it, and if you didn't watch it I hope you liked the peace that others brought to social media today. You are great.
