Today I'm sick.
Good way to start off, huh?
Anyway, as I've been laying on my bed/couch/floor/anywhere to try and feel better, I've been trying to occupy myself. I've been on youtube, instagram, twitter, facebook, & snapchat, I've texted and direct messaged, but no matter what I do I still feel down.
Whenever I'm sick, (and I'm sure this is the case for you as well) I just want to be taken care of. I want someone to bring me socks and blankets and and movies and food. I don't want to get up or move or breathe. I don't even want to put my hair in a ponytail, how pathetic is that?
Anyway, I start to really appreciate good health, and I feel for the other sick people out there. Which brings me to todays inspired blog post. Get Well Kits. I got the idea from Lauren Conrad and Pinterest. (Both wondrous sources.)
So, to start off on a Get Well Kit, you'll need something to put your 'get well' items in. Baskets, buckets, or boxes are fantastic. A mug would be great, because then they could use it. You can even use a glass jar.
(Stay tuned for the second part of my 'Sick Day' blog series. Hint: something lovely in a jar...)
Decorating your basket or bucket etc. is optional but can look pretty snazzy, and shows that you genuinely care about that person.
Notes or letters cheer humans up like no other, especially if they are meaningful and heartfelt. Slip them into your package so that your friend/family member will see it first.
Next is the fun part! The things that go inside the kit. Here is my list, you can add or subtract, improve, or change it depending on your loved ones situation:
-tissues
-gum
-cough drops
-small candies
-chapstick
-socks
-a book
-a movie
-lotion
-bubble bath
-snacks (cookies, chips, fruit, etc.)
-pictures of you together
-nail polish
-mug or teacup
-hot cocoa or herbal tea
Etc!
You can personalize this to fit whomever is receiving it! So next time your friend or family member is sick, remember this tip! You can also use this idea in general for birthdays, mothers day, etc, etc.
Stay classy and sassy!
Love, Heather.
