I wasn't planning on this.
I've been wanting to start blogging again for a while, but I didn't feel like my posts we adequate. But today I decided that I'm just going to go for it, gosh dangit!
"Heather, what are you doing?"
Honestly, I'm asking myself that as well. I'm listening to Niall Horan for the first time in years and wondering what I am going to end up publishing in this post.
If you know me well or you know me from social media, you might know that last December I filmed and edited videos for each day in the month and posted it on YouTube. Just this little thing called Vlogmas. Video-blogging-during-Christmas.
Well, I was thinking about doing a different vlogging challenge called Vlogtober, which is essentially the same type of thing, but in October. Today was supposed to be the first day of Vlogtober, but I woke up and that was the very last thing I wanted to do.
So here I am! Trying to get myself together and make a compromise. I've decided to try BLOGtober instead. Blogtober is similar to Vlogtober, with the obvious difference of media platforms. I am planning to post each day this month about life, thoughts, emotions, and anything else that I feel needs to be shared. Here we go!

DAY ONE
Facts about me, as of October 1st, 2016:
-My full name is Heather Ann Peterson.
- I am turning 17 on October 29th, which is quite exciting because that means I will finally be a Dancing Queen. That is special to me, because Mamma Mia! is one of my all time favorite musicals, and Donna is my dream role to play.
- My favorite food is string cheese. It is my happy (known) secret. Sometimes I get the absolutely incredible gift of an unexpected string cheese on hard days. It might sound silly, but it makes me feel so much joy.
- I am on Westlake's Student Council as the Service Committee Secretary, and I absolutely love it. The people I've met through being on the council have already affected my life in so many ways, and it's only October. They mean so much to me.
- Last year I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which is a very (not) awesome intestinal disorder. It's hard to deal with but I have learned that I am better than my physical problems!
- I love YouTube and creating content. I know that it might seem as if the things I post are insignificant, but to me they mean everything. I've come to realize that I don't have to be a professional at something to be passionate about it.
- I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has brought such wonderful things to my life, and I'm excited to see where it will take me in the future.
Really, I'm looking forward to what will come from this month. I love October, it's my favorite month out of the year, and I want to be able to share that love with you. I'm searching for things that bring joy. I know the occasional difficulty of being able to see the good parts of life. Keeping that in mind, I am ready to give you a look into my real life, good and bad parts alike.
I hope that during this coming month I can provide some laughs or little bits of happiness for whoever reads this. You are great.
